I support a variety of computer needs. I also support
them in a variety of methods. This will give you some
idea of how it all fits together.
On-Site Service Call. This is the
predominant service method. You require me to come to
you. You will call, email and/or send a text message
to me explaining the need. You will use the
appropriate method of contact depending on the urgency of
your request. I will respond accordingly.
Additional charges may apply when you request a same day or
faster on-site response. I come to your home or office
and take care of the request. Upon satisfaction, you
are presented with a bill which you may pay in cash or
check. Please see the related sections
Pricing,
Policies, Emergency Support.
Remote Assistance. You would like something
looked at on your computer which does not require my
physical presence. You will call, email and/or send a
text message to me explaining the need. You will use
the appropriate method of contact depending on the urgency
of your request. I will respond accordingly and set up
a time to have this remote session. Remote Assistance
is billed in 15 minute increments. Please see the
related sections Remote Assistance,
Pricing,
Policies.
Phone Support. You would like something
looked at on your computer which does not require my
physical presence. You will call, email and/or send a
text message to me explaining the need. You will use
the appropriate method of contact depending on the urgency
of your request. I will respond accordingly.
Phone support is billed in 1 minute increments, typical
$1/minute, which actually works out to be less than the
hourly rate. Please see the related sections
Pricing,
Policies.
E-Mail Support. You have a question or need
that is not particularly urgent, meaning it does not require
an immediate phone call or on-site visit. I will
respond via email either immediately or in no more than 24
hours. I carry a PDA which constantly delivers email
to me. Because of this, email is actually a preferred
contact method. Email allows for a full explanation of
your request and allows me to respond according in the
appropriate timeframe. Make sure to use alternate
contact methods such as the emergency phone when your need
is urgent, but don't be afraid to use email as a primary
contact method. Mobile technology has made this a
reality!
Text Messaging. As a slightly more effective
method than email for urgent requests, you may send a text
message using the web site or your
cell phone. I'll get an audio alert and will take
notice that a text message has arrived more often than I
check my email. This is effective if I'm in the middle
of another job or driving and I can't stop to answer the
phone, where I often can still view and respond to a text
message.
I'm looking forward to working with you!
